Transformers 2 DVD Sales Numbers have Officially been released and they don't disappoint. Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, number one at the box office this year, successfully added another record it's already long list, and effectively gave the Home Entertainment Business a very needed boost.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the Michael Bay directed movie, which was released by Paramount, sold more than 7.5 million units in it's first week of Home Entertainment release. This number effectively gives it the record for biggest-selling title of 2009 in a single week.

Of those 7.5 million units sold, 1.5 million were Blu-Ray copies, easily setting the record for the most Blu-Ray Discs sold in a week for any one movie, as well as the best selling Blu-Ray title of 2009.

The movie set yet another record, selling the most units for any movie in 2009 for a single day, moving an eye-popping 2+ million copies in it's first 24 hours of release. Of which, 500,000 were the High Definition Blu-Ray Format.

In comparison, the first Transformers (2007) movie sold 8.5 million copies in it's first week, when it was released in this same month of October in 2007. This should not, though. diminish the 7.5 million copies the second Transformers movie sold in it's first week, since the DVD market has been declining since.

Transformers 2 gave the Home Entertainment a much need boost. DVD sales have been steadily declining for the past few years.

One of the reasons, is because of the ever-growing movie download market from such places as Apple's Itune's Online Movie Download Store, of which Transformers has not yet even been released or made available to.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, also easily debuted number one on Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, Home Media Magazine’s rental chart and the Nielsen VideoScan Blu-ray Disc sales chart.

All these numbers by far, sky-rocket Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen to the top of the list for a Michael Bay directed film ever. On October 1st, Michael Bay announced the Official Transformers 3 Release Date.
