The Michael Bay directed Transformers 2 movie reached yet another milestone on it's 74th day of release. Transformers Revenge of the Fallen's domestic box office total passed $400 million on Sunday.
These box office numbers easily make Transformers 2 the year's highest grossing movie, far surpassing the year's number 2 movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, by over $100 million.
It's $400 million haul, which came from United States and Canada box office totals, make Transformers 2 one of only nine movies in history to ever pass the coveted $400 million mark.
Upon reaching this amazing benchmark, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen also became the 7th fastest movie to reach the $400 million mark, archiving the feat in 74 days of release.
Revenge of the Fallen is not just a box office hit domestically, it's an ever bigger hit at the foreign box office, accruing over $430 million since it's release date. It's worldwide box office total stands at $830.6 million, making it 19th highest grossing movie of all time, according to the All Time Worldwide Box Office Charts.
Transformers 2 marks the first time a Michael Bay directed movie has reached the $400 million domestic box office total as well as over $800 million worldwide. The first Transformers movie was director the previous best for Director Michael Bay.
All this news with comes with Transformers 2 DVD Release Date being immenent, since it's Official DVD Release date was annouced as being October 20th, 2009.
