DreamWorks Wants Michael Bay to Direct "I Am Number Four"

Michael Bay director Transformers 2 Revenge of the fallen not in theaters even half a week and it's already setting box office records. That's why it's no surprise that the movie's distributor, DreamsWorks (along with Paramount) is already looking for another series of movies for Michael Bay to direct.

Reports have come in via Variety that DreamWorks is looking to purchase the film /movie rights to the first of a six-book series with the possibility of Bay directing or possibly producing. The name of the book is "I Am Number Four". "The story tells of a group of earthbound alien teens who escaped their planet just as other hostile species was destroying it. Now, as they attempt to settle in and build new lives for themselves on earth, the main character discovers that he is being hunted by the same enemy that blew up his home planet."

On interesting thing to mention is that one of the supposed writers is James Frey, who is most famous for penning the book “A Million Little Pieces". The book received quite a bit of attention , and then controversy after it was found out to be fabricated. The book was chosen by Oprah for her book club, then when word came out it was fabricated, Frey admitted on her show that he lied.

Still, all of this is just a rumors so nothing is definite. This might not happen at all, or at least for awhile, since there is still the possibility of Bay directing a third Transformers movie, espically since Revenge of the Fallen is doing so well at the box office.
